Gardening Fun and Feeding the Hungry.... What could be better?
The Regional Food Bank desparately needs some help these days because their Americorp Volunteers have ended their term of service and their head gardener has gone to New Orleans to offer his services to help feed the hurricane victims for an underdetermined amount of time.
We are going to try to get groups together to go help out in the gardens several times a month while they need us.
The next two garden events will be
* Thursday, September 22
* Monday, September 26
We usually start between 5:30 and 6 pm. Show up whenever you can after work and come dressed to play in the dirt.
We usually have a great time getting to know our fellow gardeners, discussing sustainable topics, and learning more about organic gardening, all the while helping produce more food for the hungry in Oklahoma.
The Food Bank is located at 3355 S. Purdue, Oklahoma City. When you get there you can park in the main lot and then walk around the building to the gardens out back.
Please let me know if you will be attending one or both work evenings so I can let the Food Bank know approximately how many people to expect. And email sunnylaurarenee at yahoo.com if you have any questions.
Hope to see you there!
