Our 5th Annual OSN State Conference, hosted by Sustainable Tulsa, at the Tulsa Convention Center,on September 15th , "Smart Growth: Building a Sustainable Community" highlights land use and planning, transportation, local foods, green building and renewable energy . The renewable energy track will be offering presentations on wind, solar, geothermal and biofuels. In addition, to having a booth at our conference, The Oklahoma Sustainable Energy,LLC, team will be offering free and educational meetings on ethanol and the economic impact it could have on Oklahomans.

Dates and locations for educational meetings, before Sept 15:
8/29/2006 6:30 Edmond Public Library, 10th and Broadway

As we did a conference call, Gary Bledsoe, OSE vice president and their team were traveling in the car, on the way to Blackwell to do a presentation, to a large audience, made up largely of farmers. I liked hearing the new ethanol plant, will iniatially create 35-40 new jobs. And USDA studies indicate an additional 800-1200 jobs will be created in the region, in related areas. Locating on a 40 acre track of land, near the ADM elevator in Enid, an agreement with the existing elavator guarantees OSE 2,000,000 of grain storage, with an overhead duct carrying the grain to the new state of the art plant.Locating near three major rail companies, with access to both coasts, and north and south borders,it was good to know existing infrastructure, relating to transportation, was already there. Then to hear how creative this team used the by product was impressive. Plans call for the use of a 50% blend of corn and milo.
For every bushel of grain, 2.67 gallons of un-denatured ethanol will be produced as well as 18 pounds of distillers grain and 16 pounds of CO2. Dried distilled grains are concentrated proteins and fats which are important feed additives for cattle, swine and poultry. In addition to the use of CO2 in oil fields, it is also a product used by the carbonated drink industry, and in the making of dry ice. "Advance Foods and Bar S use CO2 to flash freeze their products," Bledsoe said. With the Enid plant capable of making 55 million gallons of ethanol a year, Terry Detrick said, "Our plan alone will replace the need of importing 1.2 million barrels of oil.". (Great I'm thinking, less dependence on foreign oil, sounds good to me.) Although the ethanol plant will use 248 million gallons of water annually, most of it will be reused.(reused, that's good to know too!) The plant will use 19.7 million bushels of grain, 1.8 billion cubic feet of natural gas and 41.3 MWH of electricity(I wonder if they have thought about using wind power?)Congress passed renewable fuels standards which require the production of 4 billion gallons of renewable fuel in 2006. OSE is looking for investors.Certain limitations apply as to eligibility for investing. at the company's website: www.OKSustainableEnergy.com. The deadline to raise the capital is September 1.Only residents of Oklahoma are eligible to invest. Non-Oklahoma residents who are part owners of an Oklahoma corporation may also invest. "If you qualify as an agriculture producer, you will receive a 30% credit on your tax return," Entz said. "It is not a deduction; it is a dollar for dollar set off in Oklahoma taxes due." .Ethanol has a bright future for Oklahoma!
Individuals wanting more information can contact Mr. Terry Detrick, President of OSE at 405.281.5551, tdetrick at ofumic.com or Gary Bledsoe, VP 405.830.1341, gary at oda.state.ok.us .

Hope to see everyone at our OSN September 15th conference!
