M-D Products on Santa Fe donated the products, and Kelly Parker of Guaranteed Watt Saver Systems, Inc. helped OSN get in contact with them. Jennifer Boyle of Sustainable Norman deserves a big thank you for coordinating the project.
The energy conservation materials include weather stripping, pipe insulation, covers for window A/C units, and other goodies. This is a perfect project for OSN because it addresses all three components of sustainability: business (energy efficiency saves money), environment (energy efficiency reduces our dependence on fossil fuels), and social justice (the materials are being distributed in low income neighborhoods). If you're free on Saturday, this is a really worthwhile cause.
Have a great week,

Subject: [OKC] Distributing energy conservation materials to the poor
This coming Saturday, at 9 AM, we will be delivering food and energy conservation materials to the poor. THe energy conservation materials were donated by a local company whose name escapes me at the moment and were bagged and sorted by the folks from the OKC Chapter of the Oklahoma Sustainability Network. We will be making about 250 deliveries in the metro area and thus can use some help. Meet at 9 AM at the Dorothy Day Center, 4909 N. State, in OKC. This street runs along the eastern boundary of the property of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. The Dorothy Day Center is south of their ball field and medical clinic, it is a red brick building. Park on the street and come on up to the building and help us put together the bags of groceries, and then we will divide everything up for the deliveries.
If you have any questions, call me at 613-4688. I will get the names of the companies and post them later today to give them a public "thank you".
