I'm forwarding an invitation from the Oklahoma Alliance for Public Transportation for a luncheon talk on sustainability and mass transit.  It will be at 11:30 a.m. next Wednesday, June 21, at the Museum of History.  More info is below.
 
In related news...Sustainable OKC will be hosting a panel discussion on public transportation in August as part of our Smart Growth Series.  I'll forward information about the date, time, and speakers as soon as it is available.

	Sustainable Urban Growth with Transit-June 21 Lunch  (Prof. Hans Butzer) 

	Members and "friends" of the Sustainability Network are invited to join the Oklahoma Alliance for Public Transportation (OKAPT) at a joint lunch on Wednesday, June 21st 2006 at 11:30 at the new Museum of History at NE 23rd and Laird.  No need to pay for a Museum Ticket if you are just going to the lunch. 

	Great networking opportunity for both groups! 

	The luncheon on Wednesday, June 21st at 11:30 features OU Professor and architect Hans Butzer and he will address us with his provocative talk and Powerpoint on "Sustainable Urban Growth with Transit"!  

	EAT DOWNSTAIRS IN THE CLASSROOM THIS TIME!  THE MUSEUM IS GIVING US BOTH ROOMS DOWNSTAIRS (plenty of room) THIS TIME. 
	  
	SAVE TIME BY ORDERING LUNCH BY EMAILING YOUR ORDER (see attached menu) (email it- by 9:30 a.m. that day to: café@okhistory.org)

	Last month the OKAPT lunch featured an excellent presentation called "Bike-to-Work:  No Sweat Doing it Either On or Off the Bus."  We learned about how the May 19 Bike to Work day event went, and what we need to do in the region and state for the future "mix" of bicycles, land use, and transit!   

	
	The presentations start later in Classroom "A" on the first floor, so give yourself enough time to pick up your lunch at Winnie Mae Café on third floor at 11:30 and ride the elevator downstairs.

	They are working on a commuter rail and downtown streetcar study over there.
