"To educate students who can integrate human aspirations and nature's
systems we must model their education on the greatest designer of all -
nature itself."
- Tony Brown, Founder
and Director of the Ecosa Institute
Hello from the Ecosa Institute:
Here at the Ecosa Institute located in Arizona we teach year round
courses in Sustainable and Ecological Design. This includes two summer
workshops and a semester long program, offered once each spring and
fall. We were recently mentioned in the New York Times, the link to that
article is:

Being that we are in the arid environment of Arizona, we teach how to
think in ways that accomplish the most with the least (especially in
terms of water) and to think and design more locally. The concepts we
teach can be applied to any environment.
We do offer tuition discounts for groups.
SUMMER WORKSHOPS:
Each Summer Workshop is one month long. The first workshop teaches
methods and materials used in sustainable construction. The second
teaches Permaculture and water management. Both workshops provide
academic and hands on experience in sustainable design and construction.
They are excellent for the student, the professional or the home owner
looking to do projects on their home.
To learn more about or apply for a SUMMER WORKSHOP visit

us, (928) 541-1002.
SEMESTER LONG PROGRAM:
Participants in the four month long Semester Program will gain an
overview of sustainable design, from architecture to Permaculture,
product design to urban and community planning. At the end of the
semester students will have gained a strong foundation on which to
develop a career in the growing field of Sustainable and Ecological
Design. Being that sustainable design is a holistic multi-disciplinary
process, our programs are open to students and professionals from a wide
range of backgrounds and disciplines.
