Just spoke with James who said that Miles Tolbert the Secretary of the
Environment has confirmed his attendance and will likely make comments after
the 7 pm Friday showing. The buzz is that Gov. Brad Henry might also attend
this showing. I will definitely attend this showing and then possibly again
on Saturday with Dave.

Subject:	RE: FYI & heads up

Hi,
I just wanted to pass along a film screening event taking place this weekend
(Friday and Saturday nights). This is a documentary directed and produced by
local talents Brad Beesley and James Payne (my #1 nephew) and concerns the
environmental and health disaster in Picher Oklahoma, a Superfund site. From
the Oklahoma State Film & Music Office website I found the following info:

"deadCENTER Film is pleased to present the Oklahoma Premiere
of The Creek Runs Red September 22nd and 23rd at 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. at
Harkins Bricktown Theater. This is the first screening in the new Oklahoma
Film Series which deadCENTER will sponsor throughout the year. The Creek
Runs Red is a feature length documentary from the producers of Okie Noodling
and The Fearless Freaks. The soundtrack includes original music by The
Flaming Lips, as well as songs by the Starlight Mints and Mojave 3. The film
debuted this summer at the 2006 Los Angeles International Film Festival.
Production of the film began in 2003 and the documentary will air on PBS in
2007. The film was directed by Bradley Beesley, Juliana Brannum and James
Payne.

Admission is free for filmFACTION members and $7 for
non-members. To reserve tickets or to become a filmFACTION member, call the
deadCENTER offices at (405)246-9233 or check out the website
http://www.oklahomafilm.org/DesktopDefault.aspx."

For more information about the film and filmmakers visit their website at
http://www.thecreekrunsred.com/

I believe there is also a film review in this week's Gazzette. Check it out!
Dave and I will be there Saturday night at the 7pm showing.

Hope to see you there,

Jan Rose
