Regarding Mike Sharrer's comments below, I asked David Franklin about
UCO since he teaches there and here is his reply ...

UCO incorporates environmental issues into many of their class
curriculums. In other words, rather than have a separate class on
environmental issues, their leadership classes includes discussions on
how to lead in environmental issues, their education classes includes
how to educate on the issue, and the American Democracy Project which is
a cross campus project includes an environmental component (the history
department has done field work with a group of students in Yellowstone
to save the wolves, I kid you not) to name just a few. I myself have
guest lectured to several political science classes on environmental
issues in politics and grassroots lobbying on green issues. I have also
guest lectured to biology classes on what issues are of importance to
the Sierra Club. My own computer science classes receive lectures on
use of technology to eliminate the need for paper. Saying that UCO
needs to have a separate class on environmentalism is kind of like
saying that a history major needs a separate class on democracy or a
that a business major needs a separate class on the virtues of
capitalism. I promise you that no one graduates from UCO with a science
degree, leadership degree, political science degree or many others
without getting a heavy dose of environmental education.

Thanks!

David Franklin

Envirinomental Ed. in the OKC area.

Does anyone attend Univ. of Central Okla.?
(...UCO...OCU...OC....OU....sheesh.) I worked a table at their recent
Earth Day celebration, and didn't get anywhere trying for info. on any
curricula or course work regarding Environmental Sciences...except for
some general studies in their Biology dept. One would expect that with
all of their emphasis on "greening" their campus and operations (...and
receiving State and even National attention regarding this.) that they
would also become a premier source of Environmental Education!
