The Environmental Studies Degree through the Department of Biology at Oklahoma City University offers students the opportunity to consider and integrate the historical, political, ethical, economic and scientific aspects of environmental issues. Natural Resource and Environmental Economics, Public Management and Policy Analysis, and Environmental Chemistry are just a few of the courses offered for this degree. Botany, Zoology and Geology courses are enhanced by observation and experimentation at the 27-acre Gamble-Buchanan Outdoor Laboratory. The Service/Learning Project in the Department of Biology is a partnership with the Blue Thumb Project, the educational arm of the Oklahoma Conservation Commission. Since the Fall of 2006 students have been building a history of the Campbell Creek watershed which runs through the Outdoor Lab. There are many avenues of focus and investigation with this degree. This area of study asks the question, "Do you want to work towards an
 economically and ecologically sustainable future?"
