WORLD NEIGHBORS -- WORLDFEST LEARNING VILLAGE VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY
World Neighbors has a wonderful volunteer opportunity coming up October 1
through October 5 at the Coca-Cola Bricktown Events Center in downtown
Oklahoma City to assist with the WorldFest Learning Village area. This
exhibit will take place within the context of our WorldFest Fair Trade
Festival which serves as the signature event for World Neighbors and
features artisan items for sale from around the world with proceeds to
benefit our organization.
The purpose of the learning village is to highlight World Neighbors thematic
work as well as provide bring it home action steps to Oklahoma children
and adults.
Ø The areas highlighting World Neighbors thematic work will cover the
following themes: people-centered food systems, nutrition, natural resource
management, access to safe water, community/reproductive health, gender,
etc.
Ø The areas highlighting bring it home action steps will cover the
following themes: water conservation, recycling, nutrition, people-centered
food systems, composting, organic gardening, community building, etc.
The learning village will feature information sharing from our partners:
Oklahoma Food Cooperative, Oklahoma Master Gardners, Department of
Environmental Quality, Kerr Center for Sustainable Agriculture, Martin Park
Nature Center and more.
