Thank you Bob!

 

Jennifer is on a well-deserved vacation and will be back next week. I have
some big shoes to fill - and right now that feels more than a little
daunting!

 

Stay tuned -- some time in the next couple of months the Sustainable OKC
board and I hope to host a thank you potluck honoring all Jennifer's work.
She knows we're planning this so we don't have to worry about keeping it a
secret. We'll have some chow and roast and toast Ms. Gooden for helping OKC
on the sustainable path.

I suspect being president of SOKC is similar to being president of the
Oklahoma Food Coop.  LOTS of work, more than is expected, but also LOTS of
very rewarding moments and "knock on effects" that make the work investment
more than worth it.

 

Congratulations to Jennifer for a Job Very Well Done, and also for
"escaping" to a Board position.  

 

And many Congratulations to Shauna, for her willingness to step up to the
leadership plate and take on this position.  Let's all pitch in so that her
burden is light and sustainable.

Subject: [OKC] SOKC Announcement from the Board

 

The SOKC board would like to announce that after many wonderful years of
service to SOKC, Jennifer Gooden has resigned from her position as President
of the Board.  Jennifer plans to remain active on the Board and involved
with several sustainability projects.  We thank Jennifer for her countless
hours of work on sustainability in Oklahoma.

 

The Board also elected Shauna Struby to be the new President.  Welcome
Shauna!  This change will take effect on April 1, 2008.  Please mark your
calendars to attend Green Drinks on April 15th at 5:30 where you will be
able to welcome Shauna to her new position.
