[OKC] FW: Amtrak Celebrates Another Recordbreaking Year

Amtrak's fiscal year ended on September 30th. 
-FY-2008 numbers set a record for the sixth year in a row. 
-Ridership was up by 3 million over FY-2007 an 11.1 percent increase.  
-Revenue reached $1.8 billion a 14.2% increase over FY-2007.
-(Remember that Amtrak receives a federal subsidy of about $1.3 billion
annually) 
-Heartland Flyer ridership was up 18.5%. 
-Missouri state supported trains were up 30%.
-Texas Eagle ridership increased by 15.2%, the largest increase of any long
distance train.
