A lecture by Mark Winnie


Nov. 11, 7:30 p.m. in the Beaird Lounge in the OU Memorial Union

 

The OU Honors College is sponsoring a lecture by Mark Winne, the author of
Closing the Food Gap: Resetting the Table in the Land of Plenty. The book
discusses Winne's experiences feeding the homeless and food insecure in
Hartford, New Haven, and Santa Fe.  Equally important, it presents realistic
ways in which people can work together to get safe healthy food onto
everyone's table.  In particular, Winne talks about how CSA initiatives,
farmer's markets, and food banks can better serve the less fortunate
nutritious food in humane and respectful ways.
