I have recently been asked to help come up with some Earth Day
activities at my workplace, Farmers Insurance at Shepherd Mall, and
wanted to know if any other corporations in the area are doing anything
themselves.

Among our events planned:

*Dirty Sock contest*. We place a clean sock on the tailpipe of
vehicles. The one that gets their sock the dirtiest wins a free auto
tune up.

*Carbon Footprint Calculator drawing*. Employees complete a Carbon
Footprint Calculator and enter it for a raffle. The prizes would be
four gift baskets. The first person drawn gets their pick. I am still
working on ideas that are green but would still interest those that have
yet to go green. Perhaps one gift basket will have coffee and another
have makeup. Of course, instead of coffee they would be reusable bags.

*Dress your Boss in Recyclable Materials*. We would have employees
dress their boss or another team member in recyclable materials. If we
don't make the event fun, we won't get the majority of employees involved.

We are also wanting to do some sort of community greening project. It
could be planting trees or help cleaning up a nearby park.

If your organization in OKC is planning on doing something for Earth
Day, let me know. If our groups can join together for something, that
would be even better.

Thank you,
Brian Figgins
