Lunch Session at Red Cross, on June 16

Come out Tuesday June 16 at noon to American Red Cross when the APT meeting
is planned to:

- Present to you the MAPS 3 transit ideas received by APT in May

- Report to you the ideas received as to new ways to fund the ongoing
operation of rubber tire transit, rail transit, and other transit

- Report on other area public transportation developments

- Allow you a little time to meet with APT subcommittees and APT Board
members to get acquainted and organized

About 30 people came out to an APT Listening session after 5:00 in May and
had excellent ideas!

The box lunches will cost $8 but it is perfectly fine to brownbag. You must
RSVP to this email by the end of Monday June 15 if you want a box lunch from
Beatnix and you may specify a basic sandwich option (beef, ham, turkey,
vegetarian). Please remember to attend or you will be invoiced for the cost.

Other than that, the meeting is free and Red Cross has ample parking just
southeast of NE 8th and Lincoln in Oklahoma City along Lindsay Avenue at 601
NE 6th. Like other APT General Meetings, the meeting is also along two
METRO Transit Routes: #1 and #18 and it is within about three blocks of
Routes #3 and #22.

Program starts at 12:15 and will be over by 1:00 pm.

Urge a friend to attend!

Your APT Board

The APT is in the process of revising its website and making it better to
serve you. In the mean time it is offering this latest list of its
Boardmembers so that the 600 or so in the APT email network and others can
know who is in the leadership. The Board is a broad group that is now
meeting monthly and it includes some frequent transit bus riders. Like the
APT, the Board is balanced and has advocates from a broad range of transit
support constituencies. The APT has long believed that finding a new way to
fund transit operations is essential, but also recognizes that reliable
service is required regardless of the budget. So, here are your board
members:

Pastor George Young, Holy Temple Baptist Church

Lauren White, Oklahoma League for the Blind (OLB)

Marisa (New) Wells, Oklahoma Health Equity Campaign (OHEC)

Krista Townsend, Saxum Public Relations

Jim Swenson, Crossroads Mall (Hon. APT Board Member)

Wayne Reid, Eastside Capitol Gateway Main Street Program

Douglas Paulsen, Frequent Transit Customer; OKC Parks and Recreation

David Miller, Edmond City Council

Joe Mecham, Oklahoma Health Care Authority (OHCA)

Holly Massie, Association of Central Oklahoma Governments (ACOG)

Turner Mann, City Council, Midwest City (Hon. APT Board Member)

Walter Jacques, Oklahoma Dept. of Health

Regina Jackson, Tulsa Transit

Larry Hopper, METRO Transit/COTPA

William Ginn, Frequent Transit Customer; Statewide Office of Disability
Concerns

Jeff Bezdek, Modern Transit Project; Bezdek and Associates
