Greetings listserv members -
We appreciate the recent dialogue about the upcoming MAPS3. Some info about
our listserv guidelines and policies:
. The SOKC listserv is open to anyone to share info, ask questions
of each other, network or express an opinion.
. Opinions expressed on the SOKC listserv do not reflect any
official position of Sustainable OKC's board. Sustainable OKC's board is
nonpartisan and does not take official positions on political questions and
does not endorse candidates.
. The SOKC listserv serves as an informational and networking
resource and we encourage healthy dialoguing from a diverse range of
perspectives, inviting open, civil and honest discussion among all parties.
This means that sometimes listserv members may post opinions that other
members of the listserv disagree with. This is part of the dialogue process
and provides an opportunity and a container for such discussions, a valuable
part of the democratic process.
. Any listserv member certainly has a right to disagree with an
expressed opinion and in fact we encourage such dialogue, exchanges and
responses to differing opinions. Please post responses on the Sustainable
OKC listserv. This is indeed part of the listserv mission - to provide a
variety of perspectives from a range of folks. That way all Sustainable OKC
members have a chance to hear other thoughts and sides of the issues - a
win / win for all of us.
. We do emphasize civility in all exchanges. Civility is sometimes
regarded as a lost art in our current society - one of the guidelines in
civil discussion is to refrain from personal attacks and focus on the
issues. We encourage doing so.
. Sustainable OKC invites people of all political persuasions and
income levels, backgrounds, creeds, doctrines and so on - this includes
businesses and nonprofits, social justice activists and members of our
chamber of commerce, right wing and left wing, Democrats and Republicans.
The sustainable tent is a big one, working at the crossroads of business,
social justice and environment.
If anyone has any questions about our listserv guidelines and policies,
please let us know.
Many thanks --
Shauna
