Sustainable OKC Member Meeting Subcommittee: A Call for Volunteers

 

SOKC List serve subscribers,

 

I am a Board member for Sustainable OKC.  I originally got involved with
SOKC by attending Green Drinks.  My motivation to volunteer for SOKC is
somewhat selfish: I want to know as much as I can about sustainable
living so I can make changes in my life that will benefit myself, my
family, and my community.  Since becoming more involved I've started to
make some small changes that, alone, may not make a huge difference, but
taken in combinations with the efforts of all of you and anyone who
strives toward a more sustainable lifestyle can make a huge difference.

 

This goal is what drives my involvement with SOKC and the same is what
persuaded me to volunteer to Chair the Member Meeting Subcommittee.
But, I can't do this alone.  I need 3-5 energetic volunteers to serve
with me.  Our task will be to plan and host a Member Meeting on November
17th and to maintain quarterly meetings thereafter.  We'll need to
select a location, find a keynote speaker, and advertise the meeting to
SOKC Members and constituents.  We'll meet in person at least twice over
the next month, delegate responsibilities, and coordinate via email and
conference calls.
