The exciting first ever Live Earth Run for Water is taking place in Oklahoma City the weekend of April 16 - 18th.
This event is intended to bring awareness to the world water crisis. Nearly 5,000 children die each day due to water related diseases and the run/walk is a 6K which is the average distance women in developing countries walk each day to collect drinking water that may or may not be safe to drink.

There are running events for adults and a fun zoo walk for the kids plus music and other eco festivities.
The link to all the events is here: http://www.liveearthoklahoma.com/
Also if you'd like to volunteer the volunteer schedule is very flexible. Just email the times you're free to work to:
runforwatervolunteer at water4.org<mailto:runforwatervolunteer at water4.org> and they will work with you to find a good event and time for you to help with.
I believe free t-shirts are involved if you volunteer at least 2 hours.
