Ingredients
This film offers an eye-opening look at the people behind the local food
movement in America and their mission to bring good food back to the table
and health back to our communities. Ingredients shows the local food
movement at a crucial moment when American food production and nutritional
standards are in critical decline. Narrated by Bebe Neuwirth, the film
crisscrosses the country over the course of four growing seasons; from the
diversified farms of the Hudson River and Willamette Valleys to the urban
food outposts of Harlem and to the kitchens of celebrated chefs Alice
Waters, Peter Hoffman and Greg Higgins. This powerful and insightful
documentary will give viewers a new appreciation for their local farmers,
and for food itself. Director: Robert Bates 2009 USA 73min. NR digital HD

Colony
The unexplainable phenomenon known as Colony Collapse Disorder has left
landscapes of empty beehives all across America, threatening not only the
beekeeping industry but our food supply. As scientists and beekeepers search
for the cause, Colony captures the struggle within the beekeeping community
to save the honeybee and themselves. Colony documents a time of
unprecedented crisis in the world of the honeybee through the eyes of both
veteran beekeeper, David Mendes, and Lance and Victor Seppi, two young
brothers getting into beekeeping when most are getting out. As Mendes tries
to save the nation's collapsing hives, the Seppi's try to keep their
business alive amidst a collapsing economy. Directors: Carter Gunn and Ross

Cool It
Cool It is based upon the book of the same name and lectures by Bjorn
Lomborg, the controversial author of The Skeptical Environmentalist.
Award-winning filmmaker Ondi Timoner travels the world with Lomborg
exploring the real facts and true science of global warming and its impact.
Lomborg is the founder and director of the Copenhagen Consensus Center, a
globally respected think tank that brings together the world's leading
economists to prioritize major global problems based upon a cost/benefit
analysis of available solutions. Amidst the strong and polarized opinions
within the global warming debate, Cool It follows Lomborg on his mission to
bring the smartest solutions to climate change, environmental pollution, and
other major problems in the world. Director: Ondi Timoner 2010 USA 84min. PG

Waste Land
Filmed over nearly three years, Waste Land follows renowned artist Vik Muniz
as he journeys from his home base in Brooklyn to his native Brazil and the
world's largest garbage dump, Jardim Gramacho, located on the outskirts of
Rio de Janeiro. There he photographs an eclectic band of "catadores" -- or
self-designated pickers of recyclable materials. Muniz's initial objective
was to "paint" the catadores with garbage. However, his collaboration with
these inspiring characters as they recreate photographic images of
themselves out of garbage reveals both the dignity and despair of the
catadores as they begin to re-imagine their lives. Walker has great access
to the entire process and, in the end, offers stirring evidence of the
transformative power of art and the alchemy of the human spirit. Director:
Lucy Walker 2010 Brazil/GB 98min. NR digital HD
