Water is our blue gold. In this analysis from Tetra Tech done for the Natural Resources Defense
Council released this week we learn that more than one out of three U.S. counties face water
shortages due to climate change. The at-risk counties across the country are home to $100 billion in
crops.
Oklahoma is on the list of 14 states with the greatest risk and Oklahoma County is one of 412 at
extreme risk; Tulsa County at high risk.

See the full report and you can look at the map in more detail on the map accompanying this analysis
using Google Earth ::: http://bit.ly/cCWlTq.
Do current water management organizations and projects address have the potential to address this?
Or is it time for climate change task forces on comprehensive water efficiency and conservation
planning? What about rainwater harvesting systems on all new homes, and retrofitting older homes for
the same? Other ideas?
