(Oklahoma City, OK) - Saints is pleased to announce the opening of a fresh,
locally grown produce market, a collaborative effort by Urban Agrarian LLC
and St. MidTown MarketAnthony Hospital on the Saints campus in MidTown.
The MidTown Market at Saints, a farmer's market-style outdoor offering, will
be located in the hospital's East Plaza at Walker and 9th Street from 2:30
p.m. to 7:00 p.m. each Friday through October. All members of the community
are invited. Plenty of free parking is available adjacent to the market.
MidTown Market at Saints is the result of creative input from numerous
representatives of Downtown OKC, Inc., the Oklahoma City Planning
Department, Greater Oklahoma City Chamber of Commerce, OSU, and members of
the Midtown Redevelopment Corporation board.
According to St. Anthony president Joe Hodges, "Our vision of the market is
to add to the evolving culture of MidTown and encourage more visitors to
experience what the revitalization in the area is all about. As a supporter
of healthy living and eating, the concept is a natural fit for the hospital.
Offering locally grown produce was an important goal for the market."
"This market represents the fruition of the retail food concept Urban
Agrarian has been working toward since its inception over two years ago,"
stated Matthew Burch, president, Urban Agrarian LLC.
For the market debut, an array of healthy products will be offered: leafy
greens including swiss chard, spinach, lettuces, a variety of root
vegetables including kohlrabi, beets, radishes, first of the season
strawberries, organic mushroom variety, and hydroponic tomatoes.
Additional offerings include heritage breed free range hen eggs, local whole
wheat and baked items, canned products including jams, jellies, relishes,
pickles, juice, and soup, peanut butter, raw honey, cheese, locally roasted
and organically grown coffee.
Live plants such as tomatoes transplants, herbs, okra transplants, flowers
and ornamentals will also be featured.
