Sustainable friends and colleagues -

There are a lot of very knowledgeable people on Oklahoma's sustainable listservs, and Transition OKC
invites the creative genius of all of you as we organize to host a screening of The End of the Line
on Fri., Oct. 1, 7:30 p.m. at Oklahoma City University. We plan to hold a panel discussion following
this important film and solicit your suggestions for panelists. Sponsors of the screening are OCU,
Sierra Club & Sustainable OKC.

Synopsis of the film

Rupert Murray's The End of the Line is nothing short of the inconvenient truth about the devastating
effect of overfishing on the world's ecosystems. The first major documentary to reveal the extent of
the crisis facing today's oceans, The End of the Line challenges us to imagine a world without fish
. period. The New York Times calls it "vital," "well-researched," and "evenhanded," a film "that
subverts our ancient faith in the ocean as an inexhaustible resource, offering a persuasive case
that the major species of edible fish are headed for extinction." Trailer & other info on the film
at www.endoftheline.com <http://www.endoftheline.com/> .

Some of the suggested areas of expertise for panelists include:

. marine science teacher/professor

. Jenks Aquarium representative

. someone familiar with toxicity issues surrounding locally-caught fish

. someone with an understanding of Oklahoma water resources

. an ethicist -- someone who can talk about social responsibility and how it relates to this
issue

Thank you so much for considering this request! Please send your suggestions for panelists off-list
to Vicki Rose at vicrose at roseranchjones.com.

Cheers!
