 Slow Food OKC's 6th Annual Fall Picnic is scheduled for Sunday, October 3rd
at the Harn Homestead from 4-7pm 

 The picnic is an incredible family style celebration of Oklahoma 's food
traditions.  It is also a great place to enjoy friends, family and fellow
Slow Fooders and people who care about eating well and local! Each year we
host over 400 people and this year will be no exception.

Please book early - we work with local producers for many of the ingredients

Tickets are $25 per person without alcoholic beveragesl/ $30 if you'd like
to drink beer and wine- if purchased by September 27th (or $30/$35/person if
purchased after that date) - check or paypal in advance. We ask you to
please reserve early - we try to offer as much locally produced food as
possible, which means we can't just run over to the store to buy the picnic
foods. Children 10 and under are free. 

This is a rain or shine event. 

We will serve family style at 4:30pm - please arrive promptly.  For those
who cannot arrive by 4:30, we will make every attempt to have seating and
food service for you.

More on the Fall Picnic Activities

something for everyone at the Fall picnic

The Fall Picnic will be held on the gorgeous 9-acre grounds of the Harn
Homestead. 

Food will be prepared by some of the top Oklahoma chefs from the best OKC
area restaurants using the finest local ingredients. The menu is sure to be
delicious and will be a gourmet twist on traditional picnic concepts. We
will have beer and wine as well as non-alcoholic beverages.  Prairie Thunder
Bread will be featured.  Beer will be generously provided by Coop Ale and
Choc Beer as well as fine wines.  

 As we did last year, we will serve the meal family-style at the tables, so
you won't have to wait in line. 

We will have a full slate of Oklahoma food producers who will be available
to speak with our guests about the foods they produce as well as
representatives from community organizations. 

There will be live music by Buck Goucher and outdoor seating under the trees
on the grounds of this original homestead. We will host old fashioned picnic
activities for families such as sack races. 

For the little ones we will have a petting zoo, pony rides and face
painting. Local artist, Elia Woods will lead the children in Veggie arts and
crafts from the Play with Your Food book series. 

Allen Parlier and his team from Closer to Earth Gardens will be leading our
composting efforts - you will be amazed at how little trash this event
produces and how much can be composted.
