Subject: News from the Alliance for Public Transportation
Hello all:
The Alliance for Public Transportation aims to improve the quality, reach, and accessibility of public transportation in central Oklahoma. Through grassroots advocacy, we hope to build the political support needed for improvements in our public transportation system.
But we need your help!
Our plan is to build a network of citizens who can visit city council representatives in the area and speak in support of public transportation. To kick-off this effort, Phillip Smith, adjunct professor, transit advocate and former lobbyist, will host a seminar on effective communication and grassroots advocacy. The training will take place at the Beatnix Café, 136 NW 13th Street in Oklahoma City, on April 9 from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m.
Please make plans to attend!
The fate of public transportation in central Oklahoma depends on our city council representatives in Oklahoma City, Norman, Moore, Midwest City, Del City, and Edmond. It is vital that we make our voices heard and that our local public officials understand this importance of this issue to their constituents. We hope that you will join us and be a part of this effort!
Lauren White
Chairman
Alliance for Public Transportation
