City seeks public input on Capital Green
(January 6, 2011) - Residents interested in sharing their ideas on how Oklahoma
City can use resources more efficiently are invited to attend a public meeting
at 6:30 p.m. on January 24 in the City Council Chamber of City Hall, 200 N
Walker.

The meeting gives attendees a chance to help develop the City’s first
sustainability plan, which will set cost cutting goals through environmental and
economic stewardship both within City operations and in the community.

Once set, the goals will become a part of a two to 10-year action plan called
Capital Green.

The meeting is hosted by the City’s Office of Sustainability, which was is
responsible for enhancing the City’s energy efficiency efforts and promoting
sustainability throughout the organization and the community.  The office is
funded through economic stimulus funds and grants.
Capital Green is designed to complement the City’s new comprehensive plan,
planOKC, which is also underway.
