 Scholarship Deadline for Permaculture Design Course
  
Apply by Thursday June 30th for a limited number of half-tuition scholarships, 
worth $375, for the Permaculture Design Course scheduled for this fall.

Permaculture Design Course offered August - November 2011
 
Permaculture offers a critical piece of knowledge during this period of 
ecological and cultural challenges - it is a design system for creating 
sustainable, resilient human settlements.  Permaculture principles and 
techniques teach how to grow food without degrading the very eco-systems that we 
depend on for life.  But much more than that - permaculture also teaches ways to 
conserve and generate energy, harvest and use water, harness land restoration 
techniques, build community, and even how to read the land and detect patterns 
in nature, culture, and society.
  
Until now, Oklahomans who wanted to learn these techniques in-depth had to 
travel out-of-state.  This fall, renowned permaculture teacher Scott Pittman, of 
the Permaculture Institute, will teach a full-scale, 72-hour Permaculture Design 
Course in conjunction with local permaculturist Bob Waldrop here in Oklahoma.  
Designed for busy people, the class will be held once a month during two 
four-day weekends and two weekends from August to November.
  
August 4 - 7 (Turtle Rock Farm, OK)
September 8 - 11 (OKC)
October 15 - 16 (OKC)
November 12-13 (OKC)
  
Transition OKC has obtained funding and grants to decrease the regular cost of 
this full 72-hour course to $750 (not including meals and lodging).
