Author Ron Ferrell to give sustainable living presentation tomorrow

Oklahoma City residents are invited to attend a free presentation by author Ron Ferrell Thursday, November 17 from 7-8:30 pm in the auditorium of the Ronald J. Norick Downtown Library at 300 Park Avenue.
The presentation, titled "Seeking Shade," will examine how to incorporate practical solutions to reduce energy consumption and local resource depletion.  Ferrell will discuss topics such as passive heating and cooling, energy storage, composting toilets, rainwater harvesting and home garden food production.  Ferrell, who is an artist and welder by trade, built his own eco-friendly home in rural Oklahoma City.
"Catching rainwater off the roof is not a new idea," Ferrell said. "It used to be the way most folks lived."
