City offers class on energy efficiency for homes

Homeowners and builders can get low cost tips on how to lower energy usage in the home and create less pollution by attending a free presentation named "How to Hack your Home" from 7 - 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, December 6.

The presentation takes place on the second floor of the Engineering Technology building at OSU-OKC, 900 N Portland.

Trey Parsons, founder of Oklahoma City-based consulting group Enersolve will give the presentation. Parsons is a certified Home Energy Rater and Building Analyst who assists homeowners and builders in retrofitting homes with energy efficient solutions.

"How to Hack Your Home will show residents how to lower utility costs and create less pollution without deep retrofits or deep pockets," said Parsons. "Energy efficiency upgrades can not only make homes more comfortable, but also a healthier place to live."

The workshop is sponsored by Oklahoma City's Office of Sustainability and OSU-OKC School of Engineering Technology. Funding was made available through the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant.
