Oklahoma City Community Foundation Community Room
Scott Pittman of the Permaculture Institue in Santa Fe will give a talk on

Consumer Conservation
Spots still available in this workshop!
Registration is now open for A Nurtured World's distinguished "Consumer
Conservation" workshop in Oklahoma City on Wednesday, October 19th 2011. The
grant funded event is available at no charge and will be held at the Ronald
J. Norick Downtown Library (300 Park Avenue). Registration opens at 9am with
the event going from 9:30am - 4:30pm.
What is it?
This interactive workshop combines useful and practical information about
how our actions impact the environment with thought-provoking inquiry into
why people get 'stuck' and can't shift their behaviors. The design of the
course allows people to cause real results in the areas of financial
savings, personal satisfaction, and environmental sustainability. Attendees
explore their personal goals, identify actions to achieve their goals, and
learn about city programs and other resources to help them succeed.
Graduates go on to make changes at home (and often in their
community/workplace) that conserve natural resources, reduce pollution, and
save money. Follow-up interviews among the 2,500+ graduates show the average
attendee is saving $2,700 per year and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by
5 tons per year!
Who Should Attend?
Any consumers dealing with everyday issues (i.e., driving a car, buying
food, and paying utility bills) will benefit greatly from attending this
training. Anyone involved in environmental outreach and measurement will
also gain valuable tools from this training. Bottom-line: If you want to
benefit your pocket-book, quality of life, and the planet, this training is
for you. Please share this opportunity by forwarding the invitation to
others who may be interested.
