Tuesday October 25th

Sam Minick reprises his excellent presentation on Rainwater Harvesting.  In
the aftermath of the drought of 2011 there can be no topic that is more
timely.  Sam covers numerous methods for capturing and using rainwater, from
rain gardens to Aquablox. Just before Sam's presentation there will be a
brief discussion about using the landscape to capture rainwater, and simple
steps to start catching rain immediately.

 

Thursday October 27th

Building your Garden with Oklahoma Native Perennials: planning for drought
and other weather extremes.  Asia Scudder has 20 years of experience
designing and planting landscapes with native Oklahoma perennials.  She will
share information about xeriscapes, plant characteristics, native plant
sources, and more! 

 

Both presentations will be held in the Agricultural Resources Center, 400 N.
Portland, at OSU/OKC. Room number 240. If there is a room change, signs will
be posted in the entry atrium. Presentations begin at 7 pm and continue till
8:30.

 

Workshops and presentations are funded by a grant from the Oklahoma City
Office of Sustainability from funds provided by an Energy Efficiency and
Conservation Block Grant from the US Department of Energy.
