Auction will feature collectively created art

September 24, 2011 - your chance to participate in Moving Planet OK, where together we'll create a piece of art that will be auctioned to benefit Closer to Earth projects empowering youth through urban organic gardening.

The live auction will be the finale for the free event, an action-art-festival promoting the goal of becoming a top-10 state in health and sustainability.

First, we'll walk, cycle, and skate our way from Wayne Coyne and Company's new Womb art space to City Hall to thank and support our partners for moving toward clean air and water, clean energy, local food, and health and fitness.  Then we'll return to the Womb to create the art piece and continue the festivities with food, beverage, music, activities, and the auction.

Don't miss this unique event on September 24th!  Sign up for the free Moving Planet OK action-art-festival today.

    What is a top-10 state?

Better quality of life for Oklahomans

A top-10 state places at the top of national rankings of health and sustainability like clean air and water, clean energy, walkable and bikeable communities, access to healthy, nutritious food, and physical activity.

You may already know that Oklahoma is currently near the very bottom of these rankings. Oklahomans want a better quality of life and more healthy and active years to spend with their families and friends.

Join us and our community partners at the Moving Planet OK action-art-festival as we ask our leaders to continue to support important initiatives improving health and sustainability.

Closer to Earth:
Empowering youth through urban organic gardening

The non-profit group Closer to Earth will receive the funds from the auction of our collectively-created art piece.

Closer to Earth empowers youth to learn and practice urban organic gardening, recycling, and composting. Teenagers develop leadership skills by mentoring other students and by taking responsibility for decision-making, empowering them to transform their own lives so they can transform the places they love: their communities and the Earth.
Closer to Earth projects have been teaching environmental advocacy, healthier choices, and how to take actions to stop climate change since 2007.
