A lunch will be available for those who RSVP to Cathy Burghart at 405-232-4644 or cburghart at newviewoklahoma.org<mailto:cburghart at newviewoklahoma.org> by noon Tuesday. The cost for a boxed lunch is $8.00 and people are welcome to come and listen without lunch. Urge a friend to attend the Alliance for Public Transportation (APT) meeting with you at the Oklahoma City Community Foundation (OCCF), 1000 N. Broadway Ave. Oklahoma City, OK.
Craig Freeman, the Finance Director for the City of Oklahoma City, will speak to APT and transit friends on April 11 the matter of transit funding in the context of the City budget, and so has also been asked to talk about the dedicated funding issue and the fiscal challenges that the future holds.
Michael Scroggins of COTPA Marketing will present results from a statistically valid survey done to understand what the general public in central Oklahoma is thinking about transit, as well as what local bus riders are desiring. As you may know, all over the country the fares paid by transit passengers cover less than 20% of the cost of a typical trip. Transit, like roads, highways, and sidewalks seems to work best when subsidized.
So, mark your calendar to be at the Oklahoma City Community Foundation (OCCF) for the noon General Meeting Program. The program presentations starts at 12:10, and the meeting will adjourn by 1:00 pm.
