Greetings greenokc stakeholder group!

You will be receiving information on new ways to participate in planokc
later this spring, but in the meantime we thought you would be interested in
this education session:

Free seminar on "Becoming Bug-Wiser"

Residents interested in learning how to use non-toxic ingredients to control
insect damage in their gardens are invited to attend a free Natural Pest
Control class from 4 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, April 26. The class will be
offered in the Agricultural Resources Center <http://www.osuokc.edu/map/>
Room 126 at OSU-OKC (400 N Portland Avenue).

Paul Ryckbost, Planner II at the City of Oklahoma City, and Ray Ridlen,
Horticulture Educator, Oklahoma Cooperative Extension Service, Oklahoma
County, will provide an overview of the impact of chemicals on water quality
and information about controlling pests through the use of insects and other
natural methods.

"Chemicals run off the land and have a significant impact on our surface and
ground waters," said Paul Ryckbost. "Insects provide beneficial, natural
pest control, allowing us to protect our water."

The class is free and open to the public. Registration is not necessary.

The Natural Pest Control class is the third in a series of free monthly
classes offered through the City of Oklahoma City's green infrastructure
initiative.
