* Come to APT Table at February 16 Shadid Townhall
The linkage between transit and health has been trumpeted by the Oklahoma
Alliance for Public Transportation (APT) for well over five years. APT
volunteers and APT Boardmembers will host a table at this no-cost event from
5:30 pm till 7:00 pm with handout materials, a display of future transit
ideas, information on starting Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) along Northwest
Expressway, and also about APT programs you may want to be a part of. APT's
goals are about both pedestrians and transit matters. This Internet link
takes you to the "Public Transportation and Health" position statement of
OHEC and endorsed in 2010 by the APT:

People are invited to learn how they can improve their health and the
public's health in Oklahoma by attending this free health fair and town hall
meeting at the Marriott Hotel, 3233 NW Expressway. The meeting starts at
7:00 but come as early as 5:30 (see link below) to see APT's display and how
to get active with APT. The Townhall is hosted by OKC Ward 2 Councilman Ed
Shadid. The Councilman's September townhall on sprawl issues attracted over
500 and the need for improved transit was a recurring theme during that
evening of high-quality presentations. The Oklahoma Alliance for Public
Transportation (APT) urges you to attend!
