<P>Greetings! As of the August Oklahoma Sustainability Network board of directors meeting and with the September e-votes fully tallied, OSN's Executive Committe has newly elected officers for the board for years '05-'07. We are extremely honored and very excited about leading OSN's future!</P>
<P>First of all we would like to thank the past OSN board for their guidance and leadership with this Network. Second, we would like to thank all of the subscribers to the OSN list serve, the issue section leaders, and the four local chapters: OKC, Tulsa, Norman, and Stillwater for effective advocacy, project implementation, and general information sharing. Lastly, a big cyber applause for our past OSN Ex. Comm.---President Jay Yowell, Secretary Susie Shields, and Treasurer Ilda Hershey. We all know that OSN's success has rested on much of their individual skills, dedication and passion. </P>
<P>OSN is now undergoing a new board restructuring initiative. Creating a dynamic, diverse and committed board is the goal. Having representation from different professions, geographic locations, and ethnic backgrounds will assist OSN to more fully advance sustainability in Oklahoma. </P>
<P>We look forward to seeing new board applications and moving our non-profit forward. </P>

<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt; TEXT-INDENT: 0.5in"><FONT face="Times New Roman" size=3>As an OSN Board member, you know that OSN stakeholders have been hard at work over the past several months. Building on the momentum of the OSN Conference, our two statewide vision sessions in <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /><st1:City><st1:place>Oklahoma City</st1:place></st1:City> and <st1:City><st1:place>Tulsa</st1:place></st1:City> facilitated the exchange of many new ideas and renewed enthusiasm for sustainability efforts in <st1:State><st1:place>Oklahoma</st1:place></st1:State>. </FONT></P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt; TEXT-INDENT: 0.5in"><FONT face="Times New Roman" size=3>For the past four years your leadership on the board of directors has guided OSN to accomplish great things in <st1:State><st1:place>Oklahoma</st1:place></st1:State>. Such services as the OSN List Serve and the annual OSN Conference have built an elaborate network of people across <st1:State><st1:place>Oklahoma</st1:place></st1:State> working in architecture, energy, food, higher education, rural and urban community economic development, and many other aspects of sustainability. Francis Kubier’s <st1:State><st1:place>Oklahoma</st1:place></st1:State> chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council has made major advancements promoting green design. Robert Waldrop’s Oklahoma Food Cooperative has begun to transform food policy in this state. Countless hours of outreach by Jay Yowell, Ilda
Hershey, Susie Shields, Lee Fithian, Emma McCauley, and the OSN board led to regional chapters in <st1:City><st1:place>Tulsa</st1:place></st1:City> and <st1:City><st1:place>Stillwater</st1:place></st1:City>. These successes have laid the foundation for a more active agenda in the future.</FONT></P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt; TEXT-INDENT: 0.5in"><FONT face="Times New Roman" size=3>Through the visioning process new leadership has emerged. Success is already afoot with <st1:City><st1:place>Oklahoma City</st1:place></st1:City> and <st1:City><st1:place>Norman</st1:place></st1:City> forming as new OSN chapters. The OSN Executive Committee, focused on the three E’s of economy, ecology, and equity, is beginning a new phase.
