<DIV>For those of you interested in obtaining certification in permaculture
design, the New Year presents us with a new opportunity to bring such a course
to OKC. Patricia Michael (<A
href="http://www.patriciamichaeldesign.com">http://www.patriciamichaeldesign.com</A>) has
once again agreed to conduct such a course in the OKC area, if enough people are
interested. She has made the following dates available: Feb 11-12, April
15-16, May 13-14, and June 3-4. The cost of the course will depend on the
number of participants. Several things came up last year that prevented
the course from taking place, but, perhaps, now is the right time. I need
to know as soon as possible if this schedule will work for you. If you
would prefer to condense the course into two extended weekends, four days in
length, please indicate that, as well. Again, if you could arrange your
schedule to devote a full week (8 days) to completing the course all at once, I
would like to know that. Patricia has also indicated her willingness to
work with others with expertise in permaculture who could participate in this
course.</DIV>
<DIV> In addition, she will be conducting a permaculture
course from Mar 10-18 at a large cattle ranch in Mexico, next to the Columbia
Bridge over the Rio Grande River. This presents a unique opportunity for
those who would like to participate. Please check her website for
details.</DIV>
<DIV> For those of you who have the opportunity to
publicize the OKC design course, I would appreciate your help in spreading this
information to others. Patricia has a remarkable background. I'm
sure there are a lot of people who would like to have the chance to work
with her, if they know about it.</DIV>
<DIV> With regard to the gardening meetings, we will be
holding a meeting at our new home in Cashion on Sunday, Jan 29 at 3:00 PM with a
potluck meal to follow--more details later. Since we have the opportunity
for some in-depth permaculture instruction this year, I would like to change the
focus of our meetings. One of the areas that Biodynamics and permaculture
have in common is the careful observation of the living forces in nature.
The formal education that most of us have received does not prepare us well for
getting in touch with those subtle realms that nourish and support the plant and
animal realms around us. These forces that extend beyond the basic
material forces, which are the subject of much of today's science, are
sometimes referred to as the etheric/elemental realm. The success of
Biodynamics over the past 80 years demonstrates the value of this
information. More recently, numerous other works have been calling
attention to the need to extend our ability to perceive what lies just beyond
our immediate sensations. I would like to use our time together this year
in some practical exercises to help each other to get in touch with the etheric
realm and apply it to our gardening efforts, but I want to hear what your ideas
are. </DIV>
<DIV> I have heard from some of you who have told me of
issues that are close to your heart that you would like to discuss. I
would like to hear from others, as well--the more the better. I think we
can address everyone's concerns, and I hope to do so. Looking forward to
hearing from you, Joseph</DIV></FONT></FONT></FONT></BODY></HTML>
