size=2>Important Notice:<BR><BR>The Oklahoma Sustainability Network is holding
its fifth annual conference, "Smart Growth: Building a Sustainable Community,"
Friday, September 15, 2006 from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the Tulsa
Convention Center. Hosted by Sustainable Tulsa, the conference will feature
tracks on such relevant topics as land use, transportation, renewable energy,
and personal/community action.<BR><BR>Concurrent sessions will cover the
environmental impact of sprawl, regional transportation planning, using
transportation choices to achieve land-use goals, sustainable home and office
tips, Oklahoma’s alternative energy choices, how to green your life, and local
foods. A mini-workshop, "Creating the Urban Environment," will be offered
as part of the Land Use track. This year's keynote address features "It's All
About Us" by Robert Waldrop, founder of the Oklahoma Food Cooperative and home
improvement guru.<BR><BR>Conference fees are $35 ($20 for students) if attendees
pre-register by September 8 and $50 ($30 for students) after September 8.
Continental breakfast, am/pm breaks, and lunch featuring locally grown food are
included with all pre-registrations.<BR><BR>Over 300 attended the 2005 OSN
conference hosted by Sustainable Stillwater; 500 are expected to attend this
