<DIV></DIV>
<DIV>Yesterday, September 13th, The Audubon Society of Central
Oklahoma received written design approval from the City of Oklahoma City
for our <U>Hefner Habitat Rehabilitation Project</U>. This concept
began early this Spring. </DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Now, more than ever, <U>we need to pass the word about this
project</U>. We need help physically, a little spiritually, and a
little financially. We are in this for the long haul. With
additional permit-type paperwork to be executed between the City and the Audubon
Society of Central Oklahoma, the City will be allowing our chapter to be
permanent land stewards. We have the opportunity here to leave a wonderful
legacy for the future.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Phase I of this project will be visible from the Lake Road, East of the
entrance to Stars and Stripes Park.. Please see our website at <A
href="http://www.oklahomaaudubon.org">www.oklahomaaudubon.org</A> for more
detail about the project.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>We will also be having a general meeting to be held October 9th at the
Mayflower Church on NW 63rd, just West of Portland at 7 PM. Johnson
Bridgwater, our wonderful volunteer landscape designer, will be speaking about
this project and his design. After that we will have open chat time.
Meet at 7 PM for refreshments. Presentation begins at 7:30 PM. For
more information feel free to call me at 721-5711, evenings.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>If you haven't joined our chapter, please do. We are thinking globally
and acting locally. Help us help the earth. </DIV>
