fiscal year ended on September 30th. <br>
-FY-2008 numbers set a record for the sixth year in a row. <br>
-Ridership was up by 3 million over FY-2007 an 11.1 percent increase. <br>
-Revenue reached $1.8 billion a 14.2% increase over FY-2007.<br>
-(Remember that Amtrak receives a federal subsidy of about $1.3 billion
annually) <br>
-Heartland Flyer ridership was up 18.5%. <br>
-Missouri state supported trains were up 30%.<br>
-Texas Eagle ridership increased by 15.2%, the largest increase of any long
distance train.<br>
