for Public Transportation (APT) is conducting field training and its volunteers
will accompany people on Tuesday December 9 to learn how to catch, ride, and
alight from METRO Transit buses. About a half dozen came last time and about
that many already plan to come this time. There will be plenty of room!

It’s free
and just one 75 minute training session should be enough to help people learn
how to hail a bus, transfer to another bus route, learn to read the paper bus
route schedules, park-and-ride, visit the Downtown Transit Center (DTC), and
more.

will start in the Walgreen’s parking lot west of the Gold Dome at NW 23rd
and Classen by 5:10 in Oklahoma City to catch the Route 5 bus. They should look
for an APT volunteer holding an umbrella. All this plus the APT volunteers will
tell the trainees useful facts about transit, about the APT, concerning
transit’s need for dedicated local funding, and answer questions. <span

The APT
partners had a great meeting on Thursday, November 13 at Shepherd Mall (NW 23rd

the IRS, development of an unbiased “secret shopper” program of an APT cadre of
bus riders, the ongoing bus ride field training, website needs, and they had
many questions for Chair Dean Jackson. The high turnout of partners also heard
about the Downtown Transit Study now underway and about the upcoming Regional
