land grant university in Oklahoma. It was created under the Morrill Act to
disseminate scientific, engineering and all other types of knowledge to the
industrial classes – in other words, working folks. In Oklahoma, through
the Constitution we placed the land grant in the hands of nine people five of
whom are to be farmers. As the O’Colly, OSU’s student newspaper,
reports, the Governor and the Senate have chosen to ignore this law and Vice
President of University Relations Gary Clark says, in effect, “I’m
