the Coop to hire a full-time general manager. Below is the basic job

General Operations Manager Job Description<br>
<br>
The General Operations Manager is the public face of the Oklahoma Food
Cooperative with its members. He or she is charismatic, writes well, and is
able to inspire members to increase their participation in the Oklahoma Food
Cooperative. The General Operations Manager has a positive vision of the future
of local food in Oklahoma, and is able and ready to help the Oklahoma Food
Cooperative realize its full potential in development of local food security.
He or she is committed to the Coop's Core Values of economic viability,
environmental sustainability, and social justice.<br>
<br>
Responsibilities include but are not necessarily limited to:<br>
<br>
The Operations manager:<br>
1. Manages the operations of the Oklahoma Food Cooperative<br>
a) Manages the budget of delivery day expenditures<br>
b) Sends out reminders and communications to the membership concerning the
opening and closing of orders, producer notes, meeting announcements and
meeting minutes. <br>
2. Reports to the Board of Directors<br>
a) Management Reports<br>
3. Supervises/Manages the other members of the Management Team<br>
a) Volunteer Coordinator <br>
b) Route Coordinator<br>
c) Logistics Team (employee)<br>
d) Delivery Day Floor Manager<br>
e) Quarter Master <br>
f) Producer Assistance Technician<br>
4. Supervises contractors (HIRE AND FIRE)<br>
5. OM is responsible for all duties of the above positions when a Team Leader
is not in position<br>
<br>
OM Communication with and Counsel to the Board:<br>
1. Prepares for and participate in Board meetings.<br>
2. Prepares and Conducts the Operations meetings<br>
3. Implements Board directives and follows-up on Board concerns<br>
4. Advises and assists the Board in formulating objectives and policies<br>
5. Is a Board Member<br>
<br>
Budget and Fiscal Responsibility:<br>
1. Prepares, reviews and reports on an annual budget quarterly<br>
2. Manages, and authorizes expenditures and acquisitions within approved budget<br>
3. Ensures appropriate asset protection through adequate insurance for all
co-op operations.<br>
Operations:<br>
1. Ensures cleanliness, safety and maintenance of the Co-op's physical plant.<br>
2. Ensures compliance with all State, Federal and Coop applicable laws,
policies and regulations.<br>
3. Oversees expansions, moves, and major remodels, repairs and maintenance
projects<br>
4. Ensures set up and delivery day tasks are completed by delivery day.<br>
5. Maintains security of physical facilities, inventory, and records.<br>
6. Opens Op center for delivery day<br>
<br>
Planning and Leadership<br>
1. Keeps current on cooperative philosophy, local food products, competition
practices, and business trends in the natural and local foods industry.<br>
2. Liaises with middle-managers to address department needs, reviews reports,
sets and oversees performance objectives.<br>
3. Participates in strategic planning sessions and creation of long-term plans<br>
4. Communicates regularly with the membership regarding coop operations and
activities<br>
<br>
Human Resources (Employees and Volunteers)<br>
1. Oversees the recruitment, appointment (or hiring as appropriate),
professional development and supervision of the management team members and
cooperative staff.<br>
2. Ensures Cooperative’s organizational chart is kept up to date.<br>
3. Implements in-house and off-site training as necessary.<br>
4. Establishes and maintains channels for employee and volunteer input and
recognition.<br>
5. Ensures that the Cooperative observes local, state and federal laws and
regulations pertaining to employees and volunteers.<br>
Pay and benefit negotiation starts at $23,000/year.<br>
