Tuesday May 10: Knowing the Basics of Green Roofs<BR><BR>Reid Coffman, ASLA, assistant professor at OU,<BR>(http://la.coa.ou.edu/facultyrc.php.). Reid is a member of Greening Rooftops<BR>for Healthy Cities and designed the green roof for the National Weather<BR>Service building in Norman<BR>(http://www.greenroofs.com/projects/pview.php?id=1103). Tuesday May 17: Establishing a Native Grass Lawn <BR><BR>Dennis Martin, PhD, Professor & Turfgrass Extension/Research Specialist at<BR>OSU (http://www.hortla.okstate.edu/faculty/martin/index.htm). Dennis will be<BR>demonstrating how to create an energy and resource saving (and beautiful!)<BR>lawn with buffalo grass. Two hands-on workshops:
2:30-4:30 p.m., and 6-8<BR>p.m., on the Shartel median between NW 30th and 31st. <BR><BR><BR><BR>5. Saturday May 21: Establishing an Oklahoma garden <BR><BR>Elia Woods. Elia has extensive experience in starting, growing and<BR>maintaining gardens at the Central Park Community Garden and as manager at<BR>Guilford Gardens (http://www.kamskookery.com/gfarms.htm). This hands-on<BR>workshop will be held at a private residence in the Hope Crossing<BR>neighborhood, exact time and place to be announced.<BR><BR><BR><BR>All workshops are free, paid for by ARRA funds provided through the Oklahoma<BR>City Office of Sustainability.
