the Household to the City Scale,” focuses on reducing the threat of
waterborne disease in developing countries through simple water treatment
processes and improved engineering infrastructure. According to the U.S.
Department of State, one out of every eight people globally lacks safe drinking
water and more children die each year due to unsafe water, inadequate
sanitation and poor hygiene than AIDS and malaria.<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>
