I am sending this e-mail out to the Sustainable OKC group at large with
hopes of enticing others to join the Smart growth/Urban development
Committee in our current project of developing the OKC Metro Area
Sustainable Builders Resource Guide. This guide ultimately aspires to
benefit local Builders, Architects, Designers as well as the do-it-yourself
homeowners who are looking for green sustainable products and services in
their building projects.

To begin, we needed a way of breaking the myriad of construction processes
and building materials into working categories. We are using the
Construction Specification Institute Categories (see below). This week at
Green Drinks the committee began to divvy up the categories amongst
ourselves so we can begin the comprehensive research of the
products/businesses/services in the OKC Metro. Below you will see the
volunteer name beside the division chosen.

Division 1 - General Requirements------------------------------------- - Jan

Division 2 - Site Construction-------------------------------------------- -
Jen

Division 3 -
Concrete--------------------------------------------------------- -Jason,
Jan

Division 4 - Masonry

Division 5 - Metals

Division 6 - Wood and Plastics--------------------------------------------
-Suzie

Division 7 - Thermal and moisture protection------------------------- - Dave

Division 8 - Doors and Widows-------------------------------------------- -
Deb

Division 9 -
Finishes---------------------------------------------------------- - Vickie

Division 10 - Specialties

Division 11 - Equipment-----------------------------------------------------
- Jan

Division 12 - Furnishings

Division 13 Special Construction -------------------------------------------
Tom

Division 15 - Mechanical

Division 16 - Electrical

At first glance I found the division headings confusing so have searched on
line for a more in depth explanation of the categories. I found Denver's
Sustainable Design Resource Guide quite informative for our purposes (
http://www.aiacolorado.org/SDRG/intro/index.html ).

If you are interested in taking on a Division or joining one of the above
named on their project, please contact me, at janrose at cox.net.
