WHAT IS WORLD NEIGHBORS ?

World Neighbors is an international development organization that
inspires people and strengthens communities in Asia, Africa and Latin
America . Since 1951, the organization has helped over 25 million people
in 45 nations find lasting solutions to hunger, poverty and disease. To
learn more about World Neighbors, please visit http://www.wn.org
<http://www.wn.org/> .

WHAT IS WORLDFEST ?

WorldFest is the annual signature event for World Neighbors. This event
includes the sale of several thousand handmade fair trade (the artist
gets a fair wage for the item) items from all over the world - Asia,
Africa and Latin America . WorldFest also includes international music,
dance and food. This year there will be a new interactive learning
village in the center of the venue to include experiential displays
about malnutrition, safe water, agriculture methods, irrigation
techniques, weaving and a recycled art project for children.

WHAT WOULD I DO AS A WORLDFEST VOLUNTEER ?

Volunteers will assist with admissions, product sales, product display,
learning village activities, event evaluation, fair trade coffee cafe,
entertainment, event set-up, event clean-up, event promotion crew and
more. All volunteers receive free admission to shop at the event on the
day they volunteer and a coupon for a percentage off of the fair trade
items (one time use only). If you are interested in volunteering for
WorldFest 2007, please email April Millaway, Volunteer Coordinator at
amillaway at wn.org no later than Friday, September 28 and share your
volunteer availability day(s) and time(s). We encourage you to consider
volunteering for more than one shift. Volunteers that work two or more
WorldFest shifts will receive lunch/dinner breaks. Please note your
volunteer role preference in your interest email and feel free to
include any questions or comments. This event will allow you to earn a
minimum of 4 and a maximum of 25 service hours (if you need more we can
use assistance after the event at our product warehouse).

We look forward to you joining the 250+ volunteers that will make this
event a success! Thanks!

Our mission: World Neighbors inspires people and strengthens communities
to find lasting solutions to hunger, poverty and disease and to promote
