Mvskoke Food Sovereignty Initiative -- Second Annual Food Sovereignty Symposium

This year's theme is "Porwvn, Hompetvn, Pom Vhesaketv Tos: Our Seeds, Our Food, Our Survival." The symposium will open Friday morning, Feb. 12th, at 9:00 AM in the auditorium of the Mound Building at the Muscogeee (Creek) Nation tribal complex located on Hwy 75 at 56 Loop.  Turn east from Hwy 75 onto 56 Loop (across from Creek Nation Travel Plaza) and enter the complex at the second gate.  Park in the large lot across from the Mound Building.  After the opening and first speaker, Dr. Don Wuebbles who will speak on the scientific facts of climate change and the relationship to agriculture, the youth will move to the tribal housing authority building just north of the complex on Hwy 75.  The adult tract will remain in the auditorium for both days.  Coffee and water will be available.  Light snacks will be included in participants' goody bags.  A full traditional meal will be served for symposium participants at Noon Saturday.  Lunch Friday is on your own.  A list of area restaurants with their locations will be provided.
