* December 20 - The holidays are approaching quickly and one of the
staff goals in the Oklahoma Sierra Club office is to get our NEW office in
order to have a holiday happy hour/open house before our break. You and
your family or friends are invited to stop by Tuesday, December 20th between
4:30 and 7:00 pm to see the new space, have some eggnog or cider, and meet
our new Oklahoma Chapter Director, David Ocamb and Sierra Student Coalition
Organizing Manager, Sasha Shyduroff. Please come! Directions to new office
at 4900 Richmond Square Suite 203: Located at NW Expressway and Blackwelder
across from the Valliance Bank Tower. The office complex is on the south
side of NW Expressway behind the Hawthorne Suites. There are several
buildings in the complex, but we are in the main building with the clock
tower directing in front second floor in the northwest corner of the
building. Please call if you have trouble finding us. 405-286-2277. There
is a map with the icon over the office located at

* December 21 - Let's celebrate the winter solstice the evening of Dec
21st (Wednesday) giving us yet another chance to better know each other. As
we relax from the holiday rush, we will connect with all mankind by
experiencing the transition from the old year and its long nights of
darkness to the promise of new beginnings. Plan to join us at Doug's farm
for a potluck dinner "to explore and enjoy" our universe's beauty and to
celebrate the winter solstice around the ancient tradition of a campfire.

throw away 25% more trash during the Thanksgiving to New Year's holiday
period than any other time of year. The extra waste amounts to 25 million
tons of garbage, or about 1 million extra tons per week. So, to help trim
the trash while trimming the tree, here is a challenging checklist of simple
things you can do to reduce waste while you eat, drink, and make merry this
