Passenger Rail Oklahoma will be hosting a National Train Day, Norman Style,
Celebration Saturday, June 18, 2011. June 14th marks the 12th anniversary
of Amtrak’s return to Oklahoma. Amtrak turned 40 years old May 1.
Oklahoma’s passenger rail future looks bright with Governor Fallin’s
signature on the Eastern Flyer Passenger Rail Development Task Force Act.

TRAVEL INFORMATION :::

Amtrak travel literature, information, kids’ hats, buttons, and stickers
will be provided by Passenger Rail Oklahoma depot hosts. This includes
information about Amtrak’s entire national system, not just the Heartland
Flyer. Take a trip out of the ordinary. Ride the Heartland Flyer this
summer between Oklahoma City, Norman, and Fort Worth with many stops
in-between*. Maybe soon all the way to Tulsa!

TULSA - OKLAHOMA CITY EASTERN FLYER PRESENTATION :::

Guthrie Territorial Christmas Train News :::

At 1:30 PM Evan Stair, Executive Director, Passenger Rail Oklahoma, will be
providing information behind the Eastern Flyer Passenger Rail Development
Task Force Act. This state task force will review the possibilities of
connecting Tulsa and Oklahoma City with a passenger train. The progress
report will highlight task force structure, the condition of the railroad
between the two cities, timelines, etc... Also there will be a brief
discussion regarding Guthrie Territorial Chistmas Train possibilities...

MODEL TRAIN LAYOUT :::

More fun for the kids… a Model Train Layout will be operating as provided by
COTTEN TT – Scale. This unusual model railroad scale sits between HO Scale
and N Scale. Special thanks go out to COTTEN and Rick Inselman for
providing this layout during this special event.

*The Heartland Flyer also stops in Purcell, Pauls Valley, Ardmore, and
